Dat’l Hook Ya Tortellini Bake in a Tomato Mushroom Sauce with a Parmesan Panko Crust

Do you ever walk past the pre made pasta in the refrigerated section of the grocery store and think it can’t be good with canned tomato sauce? Well, you’re kinda right! The pastas there are actually very good and huge time savers, you just need a gourmet sauce to go with it.

4 cloves Garlic minced

3 Roma tomatoes diced

1 Green onion thinly sliced

1/4 cup Panko

1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese

1 tsp Dat’l Hook Ya blackened seasoning

1 cup sliced baby bellas

4 tbsp Cream Cheese

2 Tbsp Dat’l Hook Ya sauce

9oz package Tortellini of choice

olive oil

1 cup Chicken Stock

2 tbsp Butter melted

In a bowl add panko, parmesan, and a drizzle of olive oil. Mix thoroughly and set aside. Cook tortellini as directed on the package and set aside. Heat a cast iron pan to medium heat (you need an oven safe pan), add a drizzle of olive oil and cook garlic with Dat’l Hook Ya blackened seasoning until fragrant, but do not burn! Its only about 30 seconds. Add 2/3 of the tomatoes and mushrooms and cook 2 min. Add Dat’l Hook Ya sauce and cook 1 more minute. Add in the chicken stock, cream cheese and bring to a simmer. Add in the cooked Tortellini’s and stir until evenly coated. Cook until sauce thickens about 3-5 minutes. Add in melted butter and stir. Remove from stove top and top with the Panko parmesan. Place into oven and Broil until panko is brown around 2-3 minutes. Remove and garnish with the remainder of the tomato and green onion. This dish seems complicated, but it preps and cooks fast! Enjoy that delicious home cooked meal.
