Dat’l Hook Ya Lobster Mac n Cheese

It’s lobster season in FL! Here is a fan favorite: Dat’l Hook Ya Blackened lobster Mac & Cheese. This is a very delicious homemade cheese sauce. It takes a little time prep but it’s better than anything you will get frozen or out of a box. Just another way to cook Gourmet with Dat’l Hook Ya

Dat’l Hook’Ya Lobster Mac and Cheese

¼ cup unsalted butter

3 cups shredded Sharp white cheddar cheese (do not use a mild cheese flavor)

1.5 cup whole milk

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup Dat’l Hook Ya sauce

2.5 cups heavy whipping cream

1 pound pasta of choice

3 lobster tails

Dat’l Hook Ya Blackened seasoning

Cook Pasta per instructions and set aside. Cut the lobster tails in half and shell them. Season with Blackened seasoning. Blacken the lobster but do not over cook, chop and set aside. In a large pot on medium high heat, melt butter. Once the butter is melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about one minute. Reduce to medium heat and add heavy cream, milk, and Dat’l Hook Ya Sauce. Begin to whisk and continue until it begins to boil slightly. Add chopped lobster. Reduce to low heat and add sharp white cheddar. Stir cheese until melted. Add cooked pasta and coat evenly. Turn off heat and allow to thicken, about 3 to 5 min. Some people prefer a more thin type of cheese sauce. Add milk and whipping cream 1/4 cup at a time until the desired consistency is achieved. To make it exceptional place onto a baking pan, sprinkle on panko and bake at 450 until panko is slightly browned.
