Dat’l Hook Ya Blackened Whiskey Mushroom Sauce

Such a delicious sauce to add on top of chicken or pork. Make the protein your way of choice and top it with this whiskey mushroom sauce to make it exceptional.

1 Shallot diced

1 Small onion diced

8 oz Sliced mushroom

2 Cloves Garlic diced

1 Tbsp Mild Dat’l Hook Ya blackened seasoning

2 Tbsp flour

2 Tbsp butter

2 Tbsp Olive oil

1/2 Cup milk

1 Cup chicken broth

1/3 Cup whiskey

Bring a pan to medium heat and add 1 tbsp olive oil. Once oil is hot add shallot and onion. Cook until slightly clear. Add the last 1 tbsp of olive oil, mushrooms, and blackened seasoning. Mix until everything is evenly coated. Continue cook on medium heat for 5 min, stir frequently. The mushrooms should be cooked. Remove mushrooms and onions from the pan and set aside, do not clean the pan. Now add the butter to the pan. Once melted add the flour and mix until drippings are in the roux and it is evenly cooking. Cook for 3 min. Add whiskey and cook 1 min for alcohol to burn off, it will be thick. Add chicken broth and milk. Cook and stir frquently until sauce thickens, about 3-4 min. Add in mushrooms.

Add this mushroom sauce on top of your chicken or pork. Gourmet cooking at home.
