Seven ingredients. No water, so no preservatives. Most sunscreen is mostly water, which means it also needs preservatives, emulsifiers, and stabilizers to hold it together on a shelf. Ours is a waterless balm — oils, butters, wax, and zinc. Nothing in this tube is there to keep the rest of it from separating.

Goes on like a balm, not a paste. Most mineral sticks drag, skip, and leave you pressing hard enough to sting. This one doesn't. Olive oil, jojoba, and shea carry the zinc so it lays down smooth in one pass — even over cheekbones, ears, and the tops of your feet. Like every honest mineral sunscreen, it leaves a light white cast. That's the zinc doing its job.

It's a balm that happens to be sunscreen. Beeswax and cocoa butter seal in moisture instead of stripping it, so skin feels conditioned rather than tight and dusty at the end of the day. Vitamin E rounds it out. Nothing in here that isn't earning its place.

Purpose: Sunscreen

Uses: Helps prevent sunburn. If used as directed with other sun protection measures, decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun.

Warnings: For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. When using this product, keep out of eyes — rinse with water to remove. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Directions: Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, and at least every 2 hours. Children under 6 months of age: ask a doctor. Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., and wear long-sleeve shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses.

About this tube

Our container is molded from a resin containing an organic additive that draws moisture and gives naturally occurring microbes access to the plastic — something conventional plastic doesn't allow. The resin has been independently tested under ASTM D5511, the anaerobic high-solids laboratory protocol, and ASTM D6691, the marine laboratory protocol. These are controlled laboratory tests; performance in any real disposal site depends on conditions there. The additive contains no starch, heavy metals, or fillers. Please recycle where facilities accept it. Not compostable — do not place in a compost bin.
