The great debates: wet ribs vs dry rub and how do you cook the best moist rubs with a slight crunch exterior. Our method gets close to those ideal perfect ribs!
– Take your baby back ribs and season liberally on both sides with Dat’l Hook Ya Blackened seasoning. Ideal is let the seasoning sit at least 30 min in a refrigerator
– Once the ribs are seasoned, preheat your grill to 325 degrees. Once it hits 325, let it stay there for 30 min before adding meat to get all the metal hot.
– The ribs MUST be cooked by indirect heat. For a 2 or 3 burner grill turn off 1 burner.
– Once you get the ribs on the grill, go to page 2 and follow our BBQ sauce recipe.
– Place the ribs meat side up on the side that the burner is turned off and cook for 30 min. Rotate 180 degrees and cook another 30 min. Flip the ribs meat side down and cook 30 min. Now for one more 180 degree rotation and cook for 30 min. At this point the ribs are cooked they just need to be flipped with the meat side up. Up until this point wet and dry rub are the same. Mop half the ribs on the meat side only with the Dat’l Hook Ya BBQ sauce you made earlier and leave the other half dry rub. Close the lid and leave both wet and dry ribs on the grill. Increase the heat to 400 degrees and grill 15-30min depending on your desired caramelization. Such an easy way to cook darn near perfect ribs every time with no crazy long marinade!
