A very simple beer batter that is so good! It’s light, airy with a nice crunch. You can use this beer batter on shrimp, fish, fries, vegetables, anything that you want to have that perfect beer batter fry.
1 cup Caputo 00 Flour (or any brand double zero flour)
1 1/3 cup Ale Beer
1/2 tbsp Dat’l Hook Ya blackened seasoning
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 tbsp seasoned salt
1 egg
Peanut oil for frying
Mix all the dry ingredients together and mix until uniform. Beat the egg in a separate bowl until it is well beaten, add it to the flour and mix until the egg is absorbed. Add in the beer and mix until evenly mixed. The mixture will be a little loose. If it is too thick, the batter will not get a nice crisp. Heat peanut oil to 350 degrees. Do not pre batter. It is best to dip into the batter, shake off the excess then place into the oil. Fry until a nice golden brown.
Tip for seafood and meats. Lightly season the seafood with Dat’l Hook Ya blackened seasoning then place into the batter. The taste is so amazing!
